Nannu Credits Afghanistan for Abu Dhabi Test Draw
Bangladesh Cricket Board director Minhajul Abedin Nannu credited Afghanistan's resilient batting for the drawn Test in Abu Dhabi. On the final day, Bangladesh raised hopes of victory, but Afghanistan's tail-enders showed grit to save the match. Despite criticism, Nannu avoided blaming his team and acknowledged Afghanistan's effort. He said one does not always win in Test cricket and Afghanistan played well. Looking ahead to the West Indies series, he struck a positive note and, regarding the Test Championship, said the team must take it match by match and not think about the final now. He also claimed the performance graph is upward. However, he did not specify which players missed chances or what tactical errors occurred. He only said the bowlers worked hard and chances came but were missed. Thus, through an administrative voice, the pain of the failure was softened and attention shifted to the future.
